bb’s kitchen has quickly become a favorite meeting place among the locals in Aspen. Both locals and out of town visitors alike will feel at home while enjoying breakfast, lunch, dinner or a late night out with friends. Designed to fill the need for both casual dining and excellent food, bb’s has hit the mark with its welcoming vibe, contemporary décor and delicious food. bb’s kitchen is two restaurants in one. One can experience the no fuss vibe at breakfast and lunch and then return in the evening for a candlelit, fine-dining experience. When the weather complies, you can enjoy all your meals on the outdoor deck amidst the spectacular Aspen mountain views.
Executive Chef Katie Lorenzen creates contemporary American cuisine, with a twist—think, Maine lobster benedict, soft shell crab BLT and grilled veal chop with preserved lemon. Sumptuous house-made pretzel rolls, accompanied by tangy cherry mustard for dipping, replace the traditional breadbaskets. Not only is bread made in-house, bb’s kitchen smokes their own salmon for maximum freshness and flavor. Favorite standbys, such as crispy organic half-chicken, Colorado rack of lamb and juicy Ribeye steak, are also on the menu.
Before coming to bb’s kitchen, Lorenzen worked as Executive Sous Chef, under Chef Beau MacMillan of Elements restaurant in Scottsdale, AZ and was part of MacMillan’s team in 2006 when he defeated Bobby Flay on Iron Chef America.
Adjacent to bb’s kitchen, Bar bb’s, an elevated, sleek glass box, overlooking downtown Aspen, is a great place to extend your evening. Enjoy handcrafted cocktails and a well-priced wine list, along with an extensive “small plate” menu. Bar bb’s also opens onto the expansive patio and has live music several nights a week.
