Downvalley Tavern

The Downvalley Tavern “DVT” is laid back, fun, and unpretentious taverna located in
El Jebel, Colorado, just 30 minutes down valley from Aspen. We are one part mountain tavern, one part Italy, and one part pig obsessed. We support our local suppliers and serve soul-satisfying Italian-inspired tavern fare.

Owners, Drew Scott, former chef of Elevation in Aspen, and his wife, Bonnie Scott opened the Downvalley Tavern July 2010, in the El Jebel location formerly occupied by Blue Creek Grill. They are fulfilling their vision of the ideal restaurant—good food in a casual spot.

Chef Drew Scott serves Italian food that satisfies the body and soul. People of the Roaring Fork Valley work hard and play hard. The Tavern is here to provide a nice hot meal at the end of the day, or during the middle of the day if you choose to go there for brunch or lunch. The focus of the cuisine is simple, handmade food. Pancetta is cured in house, pasta is hand rolled, and fresh bread is baked everyday.

The food is thoughtful, yet casual and the service is casual, yet attentive. The decor features dark wood, a brick wall, and high ceilings, which provide an inviting and comfortable atmosphere. All of the colorful artwork was painted by Lena Scott, Drew’s mother.

Why the pig? The Italians are masters of the pig from salami to pancetta to prosciutto. Please come in and try our creative cuisine.
