Founded by Bill Miller and World Record Speed Skier Jeff Hamilton – Hamilton Sports has been Aspen’s true ski shop since it’s opening in 1997. We love the sport and live for it in our daily lives. In March of 1995 at Vars, France Bill Miller sitting in 6th place started a perfect run only to find it was not to be. Crashing at 125mph Bill’s speed skiing career was over. One month later on the same track in France Jeff Hamilton set a new world record becoming
the first person to ski 150mph! Jeff also won the bronze
medal at the 1992 Albertville Olympics to go along with his 4 World
Championships.

Owner, Bill Miller spent 7 years as a professional speed skier racing in Europe,
chasing his dream of more speed and returns to the Alps every year. The staff
at Hamilton Sports are all skiers spending at least a few hours each day on
Aspen Mountain – the boss schedule’s it that way. The Hamilton Sports family
consisting of past and present employees as well as close friends makes our
ski shop what it is – FUN! – and isn’t that what skiing is all about? We realize
how lucking we are to live in such a special place – and would like to share our love and expertise
for skiing in Aspen with you.
