Justice Snow’s is Aspen’s favorite restaurant and bar with a landmark location next to the historic Wheeler Opera House in the heart of downtown Aspen. Opened in January 2012, we serve fresh, creative food, handcrafted cocktails, and incredible, affordable wines in an imitable atmosphere. Named for a justice of the peace serving in Aspen at the time the Wheeler Opera House opened in 1889, Justice Snow’s reminds us that a sense of community and passion for snow are what make this town thrive. Interior designer Matt Duncan has revived this legendary Aspen haunt to feel both hip and historic, with a mix of reclaimed & repurposed materials and custom-made pieces. Our Victorian-era bar has inhabited this space for the past 25 years, and the original Wheeler Bank vault door graces the dining room. There are gems to be discovered throughout, from a brass chandelier that hung in the Columbia University library over 100 years ago to hidden antique doorbell medallions that serve as peepholes to view vintage films. Executive Chef Jonathan Leichliter is always developing our fresh, seasonal menus, but you can always expect refined yet unfussy dishes that are elevated with unexpected twists. We take every opportunity to serve Colorado products and house-made specialties. Chef Leichliter has an uncanny ability to take familiar dishes and bring them to the next level, or present uncommon flavors in a completely approachable way. At the helm of our historic bar, lead libation liaison Joshua-Peter Smith creates a lively atmosphere that is part performance art and part cocktail craft. Our extensive menu includes rare spirits, mixed drinks (from classic to custom), mocktails, distinctive hot drinks and beautiful wines at every price point.
